Six copies of a newspaper cutting from the Wednesday 19 April 1961 edition of the Press and Journal with article "Peter Scott Signs Special Book.." by Andrew Mackay. The article is related to the opening of the James McBey Memorial Library at Aberdeen Art Gallery, where Peter Scott, the new Rector of Aberdeen University, signed a book which belonged to Douglas Cameron. This book had a sketch of Douglas' mother as a young woman drawn by James McBey who was a family friend.

Six copies of a newspaper cutting from the Wednesday 19 April 1961 edition of the Press and Journal with article "Peter Scott Signs Special Book.." by Andrew Mackay. The article is related to the opening of the James McBey Memorial Library at Aberdeen Art Gallery, where Peter Scott, the new Rector of Aberdeen University, signed a book which belonged to Douglas Cameron. This book had a sketch of Douglas' mother as a young woman drawn by James McBey who was a family friend. This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this newspaper cutting.
