Brief description:
Top bar: Gold plated silver bar, matt with polished trim and text in polished relief reading 'ESTB. 1759'. Ribbon: Ribbed and watered silk in light blue. Hanging device: Five pointed sunburst in gold plated silver with a central image in relief depicting Neptune on his chariot. The sunburst is on a disc of light blue enamel and within a gold plated silver encasing, matt with text in polished relief reading 'NEPTUNE LODGE No. 22 / CENTENARY'. A set square and compass in gold plated silver surmounts the device. There is an engraved monogram on the reverse of the device consisting of the letters [?] 'H', 'C' and 'G' entwined. Pin: Vertical.

Comments:
Neptune Lodge is one of a small number to have a non-standard centenary jewel. Prior to the mid 1860s lodges produced unofficial jewels for centenaries and those with existing jewels were allowed to continue them as a concession when a standard form was made compulsory.
