Officer’s broadsword, J F S Gordon, The Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment), 1900 (c). Made by Henry Wilkinson, 1900 (c). The regulation broadsword blade is decorated with the regimental badge of The Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment), Scottish thistles and St Andrew’s saltire. Similar swords, with the appropriate badge, were carried by officers of other Scottish regiments. Raised in 1633, the Royal Scots were part of the Scottish Army before joining the British Army.
