Glass panel
Brief description:
A painted glass panel in a wooden frame from a door in Bennfield House (which was demolished in 1931). The large panel shows the George Inn, Market Place, c.1810 which was demolished between 1846-1848. It was built for Thomas and Joyce Langley on their marriage in 1652. The smaller panel shows a lady who was possibly the innkeeper. Unsigned. It is reproduced in the book 'Rugby. A Pictorial History' by W.W Timmins. The wooden frame has two painted glass inserts. The frame is painted a pale green. A label is stuck to the frame giving historical details of the George Inn and Bennfiled House. The smaller panel is cracked in a few places.
