Comments:
Kent Lodge, No. 15 is one of a small number to have a non-standard centenary jewel. Prior to the mid 1860s lodges produced unofficial jewels for centenaries and those with existing jewels were allowed to continue them as a concession when a standard form was made compulsory.
Comments:
Kent Lodge, No. 15 held a centenary feast in 1821, but it was held in error as 1821 commemorated the 100th anniversary of the warranting of Union Lodge (erased 1744) which was No. 8 of the Moderns Grand Lodge whereas Kent Lodge was No. 8 of the Antients Grand Lodge. The actual centenary of 1852 was not recognised by the Lodge, the official warrant being instead granted in 1858, marking the centenary of the Lodge's Warrant of Renewal.
