Envelope containing letter written to Frank Erne, father of Kenneth Erne, signed by King George Vi, offering condolensences following the death of Kenneth. Kenneth died in 1943 after his plane was shot down in Denmark. Envelope addressed 'F. X. ERNE, ESQ.' Text on letter reads 'The Queen and I offer you our heartfelt sympathy in your great sorrow. We pray that your country's gratitude for a life so nobly given in its servitude may bring you some measure of consolation'. Signed 'George R. I.'
