- Though he was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy in London, Lee was based in North Devon for most of his career. He was also a keen outdoor sportsman and enjoyed yachting, shooting and fishing. His paintings at the 1848 Royal Academy exhibition were admired by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. This object is not on display.
