- Object name(s):
- Hornby Train Set
- Brief description:
- Hornby Railways is a British model railways manufacturing company that began in 1901. Their Type 50 clockwork tender locomotives were produced in British Railways liveries from 1954 until 1961, replacing the prenationalisation liveried 501 series. Made from tinplate, this set consists of a 0–4–0 loco and tender with ‘lion over wheel’ emblem, a brown goods wagon, a crane on a flatbed wagon, a tipper wagon, and key to wind the loco’s clockwork motor. It runs on 32mm wide track (Gauge ‘O’, or 1:43.5 scale), making it compatible with many other manufacturer’s model railway systems. Circa 1954-1961.
