- Shaw Lefevre (1797-1879), a lawyer, senior public servant, and a Fellow of the Royal Society, was a member of the Senate of the University of London when it was formed in 1846. He was the second Vice-Chancellor of the University, 1842-1862, then remained on the Senate until his death. Portrait signed and dated. In gilt gesso frame.
