Text:
An iron rowel spur which was fastened to the boots of the rider and the rowel (a small spoked wheel) used to spur the horse onwards. The rowel is missing. It probably dates to the post-medieval period, about 400-300 years old (1600-1700). This spur was found at Low Pavement, Nottingham. It was acquired by Nottingham City Museums in 1931.
