Brief description:
Top bar: Two gold curling foliage motifs from which is draped a gold banner with forked ends infilled with dark blue enamel and with text reading 'ACTING I. P. M.' Ribbon: Ribbed silk in light blue, faded to green. Ribbon device: Crossed flags in gold tied with ribbon. The left flag is the Union Jack in red, blue, white enamel and the right flag is the navl flag Blue Peter consisting of a white enamel square with a dark blue enamel border. Bottom bar: Two knights on armoured horseback in gold beginning a joust with lances, the right knight with a blue enamel shield with central red enamel chevron on display. Between the knights is a silver coloured metal helmet with gold plumes coming from it. They are jousting on a gold bridge with a central keystone. The top row of bricks each side of the keystone are infilled with white enamel and with text reading 'K.N.I.G.H.T.S. / B.R.I.D.G.E.' Beneath the keystone is an arch of bricks infilled with white enamel with text reading 'No.2.9.7.8.' Hanging device: Gold set square with a foliage design in relief beneath which is suspended the 47th proposition of Euclid, also in gold. There is a presentation inscription on the reverse.
