First hanging device: Gold shield bearing the arms of Canterbury impaling those of Kent - gold lion passant on red above three black choughs on gold and white horse invicta on red. Surrounding the shield is a gold scroll, marked ' HERVEY / 1692 / LODGE ' in white. Second hanging device: Gold set square, from which is suspended the 47th proposition of Euclid on a blue ground.
