Brief description:
Sealed pattern trade badge, Cavalry in Blue, for other ranks of the 16th Lancers, the Army Service Corps and the Army Ordnance Corps. Sealed in 1912 and worn by farriers and shoe-smiths. From a collection of nine badges, various regiments, 1896-1912. A ‘sealed pattern’ is a prototype of any item that the British Army issued to soldiers. It provided clothing or equipment suppliers with an example to copy.
