- An external student and graduate of the University of London, Fitch (1824-1903) was a member of the University of London senate from 1875 and an examiner for the University. He supported education for women. He was Chairman of the Charity Organisation Society 1898-9, whose library came to the University of London. Thirty publications by him are held in the Senate House Library special collections. Signed portrait. In gilt gesso frame.
