Brief description:
Blancoed officer's anklets, pattern 1937, used by Captain David A Walmsley, Royal Army Medical Corps, 1955-1959. Made of webbing and leather by S.O.C. Although puttees (webbing tape) were worn by some regiments most National Servicemen, both officers and other ranks, would have worn anklets (also known as gaiters) with their battledress. The strap buckles were always on the outside of the leg.
