This watercolour and gouache on paper depicts Anstey’s Cove, near Torquay in Devon, which is defined by large rocks projecting into the sea. A figure can be seen walking along the beach, right. John Gendall (1790-1865) was a British artist who has become increasingly associated with his paintings of Devon. This object is not on display.
