Brief description:
Cream silk apron with flap, with ruched and light blue ribbon trim. The apron is engraved and coloured with a set square and compass with the letter 'J', 'M' and 'B' within a panoply and within an acacia wreath. The flap is painted with a beehive and a banner with cypher text.

Comments:
Joachim Murat (1767-1815) was a French revolutionary and a trusted officer of Napoleon Bonaparte's whose sister he married in 1800. Napoleon granted Murat numerous titles, including that of King of Naples and Sicily in 1808. After Napoleon's fall, Murat was executed by the rightful King, Ferdinand IV of Naples.
