Formation badge, HQ British troops in Austria, 1950 (c). Printed cotton depicting a golden cross set on a white shield, on a dark blue background. The original occupation force in Austria at the end of the Second World War was made up of Eighth Army units. When the Eighth Army was disbanded the British forces in Austria adopted this as their formation badge.
