- Title:
- The Kursaal Gardens, Harrogate
- Object name(s):
- watercolour and gouache; mixed media
- Brief description:
- Painting for the LNER poster. In this preparatory study for a poster advertising Harrogate, the elegantly dressed figures not only promote the town as a fashionable place to visit; they also project a new spirit of post-War optimism. Arguably, this is a coloured lithograph. It was commissioned by the LNER and was discovered in an attic.
