Formation badge, Corps of Army Music, 1994 onward. Woven rectangular patch with gold embroidered lyre at centre, on blue ground. The Corps of Army Music was established in 1994 as part of the Options for Change Defence Review. The Corps supports both small and large bands within the Army which perform at a wide variety of events. The Corps is one of the public facing parts of the Army an performs an important ceremonial role. They have 11 major bands including those of the Household Cavalry and the bands of the five regiments of Guards but they also include rock and pop music groups and traditional folk music groups.
