Terracotta tile taken from the lining of the Thames Tunnel, in the course of early work to prepare for renovation of the Tunnel in the 1990s.

Condition:
Formerly framed, with the title glued on to a piece of wood screwed into the frame. This frame was removed in September 2024 to allow for easier storage and future display; the tile remains glued to the wooden support, which will require conservation work to detach. Tile itself is fairly fragile; surface is beginning to crumble and is likely deteriorate further with handling.
