Brief description:
Christian cross memorial marker with attached Remembrance poppy, 2012 (c). Wooden cross, with pointed end suitable for placing in the ground. Taken during a trip to the Somme Battlefields with the Director of the National Army Museum, 28 to 31 Jul 2012. One of a number of crosses laid by Albert Mayle, including at the Devonshire Cemetery, Mametz. Associated with the Royal British Legion, the Battle of the Somme, World War One, Western Front (1914-1918) 1916.
