- The mathematician and mathematical historian Augustus De Morgan (1806-1871) was the first professor of mathematics at University College London, and the youngest professor to be appointed there. As a memorial, the bust complements his collection of some 3,000 mathematical books printed between 1474 and 1870, several annotated, in Senate House Library. Portrait signed and dated. On black marble plinth.
