- Ceramicist. Takeda graduated in Ceramics from Tokyo University of the Arts in 1969. In 1975 he received an award at the Japanese Ceramic Design competition and in 1977 set up his own kiln and workshop at Minamiizu, Shizuoka Prefecture. Since then he has received other awards within Japan, including first prize at the Matsuya Craft Exhibition. His work has been seen in exhibitions in Japan, Alaska and at the International Potters Festival in Aberystwyth in 1991.
