- Brief description:
- Note quoting Provost Marshall’s farewell despatch, Cologne, 1919. Addressed to the women of Queen Mary’s Army Auxiliary Corps serving with the Army of Occupation, it reads: ‘Since the occupation of Germany it has been necessary to have a strict control over circulation. The officers, QMAAC ladies, and NCOs and men have been working at a high pitch an have made our system control an entirely satisfactory and efficient one. This has required great tact. The absence of complaints testifies to this success.’
