Brief description:
Specimen Elizabeth Cross in case with associated lapel badge, 2009. The Elizabeth Cross is awarded to the next-of-kin of members of the Armed Forces killed in active service and was created in 2009. It’s award was subsequently post-dated to 1948. Families are awarded a large version of the cross to wear on ceremonial occasions, such as remembrance parades, and a pin mounted miniature for less formal occasions. This example is a specimen gifted to the National Army Museum by the Ministry of Defence rather than an issued example.
