- Rattle
- Brief description:
- A rattle was an ideal alarm; it sounded like nothing else and had a piercing noise. It was used by the home guard against threats of gas attacks. The Key advantage was that, unlike a whistle, it could be used when wearing a respirator. Wooden Rattle stamped to ARP. Later used by football fan with England and a star drawn in ink.
