Brief description:
Spark plug with electrodes from Golden Lodge. Lodge Plugs began in 1903 when Sir. Oliver Lodge, a famous scientist, applied, with his son Alec Lodge, for a patent for an electric igniter. In 1904 Alec and his brother Brodie formed 'Lodge Brothers' based at New Street in Birmingham. By 1910 the company have moved from Birmingham to Rugby, initially at Hunter's Lamp Factory in Lower Hillmorton Road and then a small factory in Albert Street, Rugby.
