- Brief description:
- Officers’ cap badge, Royal Army Dental Corps, 1965 (c). This badge consists of a dragon’s head, with a sword in its mouth, within a wreath of laurel and surmounted by a monarchial crown. Beneath the laurel is the regimental motto ‘Ex Dentibus Ensis’. This translates as ‘From the teeth, a sword’ and refers to the Greek legend of Cadmus who killed a dragon and then sowed its teeth in the ground. From the buried teeth sprang soldiers.
