Person's biographical note:
Painter and theatre designer. Studied in Northampton and the Royal College of Art graduating from the latter in 1934. He taught Art History at University College, Aberystwyth, 1936-41, and later taught art at Northampton School of Art. In 1939 he became a member of the Society of Mural Painters. He worked as head scene painter at the Old Vic and Sadler\'s Wells theatres and married the actress Freda Jackson. He painted murals, particularly in churches and hospitals, portraits and figure studies
