Brief description:
Trench coat, Major-General Maurice Percy Cue, Army Staff, 1918 (c). Khaki gaberdine trench coat with waterproof lining, made by Aquascutum, London. This style of waterproof coat took its name from the muddy trenches. They were mostly worn by officers on the Western Front, who bought them privately as an alternative to the heavy greatcoats.
