Top bar: Gold bar infilled with dark blue enamel and bearing the text 'OCTAVUS'. There are foliage motifs above and below the bar. Ribbon: Ribbed and watered silk in light blue. Bottom bar: Gold shaped plaque painted with a coloured enamel depiction of Shacklewell Manor, Hackney. Below is a gold shaped banner infilled with dark blue and white enamel and bearing the text ‘HACKNEY MANOR LODGE, No. 4592’. Hanging device: Gold set square with a measuring rule design on the left, an engraved foliage design on the right and the 47th proposition of Euclid suspended below. There is an inscription on the reverse. Pin: Vertical.
