- Comments:
- Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence and Avondale (1864-1892) was the eldest son of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (later Edward VII) and Princess Alexandra. In 1885, he was initiated in Royal Alpha Lodge, No. 16 (Master 1887-1891), passed in Lodge of Friendship, No. 100 (Master in 1888) and raised in Isaac Newton Lodge, No. 859. He also joined Aldershot Army and Navy Lodge, No. 1971. He was appointed Senior Grand Warden in 1887 and Provincial Grand Master in 1890. He died young of pneumonia in 1892 shortly before his wedding to Princess Mary of Teck, who went on to marry his younger brother, Prince George, later George V.
