Cap badge, 44th Cavalry, 1941-1943. Gilt metal badge in the form of the regimental number, ‘44’, surmounted by a crown, on crossed lances. The 44th Cavalry was one of a number of regiments raised during World War Two (1939-1945). It was raised in April 1941 and disbanded in March 1943. From the Field Marshal Sir John Chapple Indian Army Collection.
