Brief description:
A paper programme, accompanying an exhibition entitled "The People of Nottingham", held at the Albert Hall Institute, 25th - 29th September 1951. Cost nine pence. The exhibition was part of the Nottingham celebrations for the 1951 Festival of Britain. Front cover bears the Nottingham coat of arms, above the text: "It is not the buildings and machines which make the city of Nottingham but the PEOPLE...This exhibition shows a very few examples of what the men and women of this city have done during the years 1851 to 1951 to make life worth living". Contains 9 pages with black and white illustrations, containing a passage entitled "Nottingham: A Century of Change" by J.D Chambers, Reader in Economic and Social History at Nottingham University. "This programme commemorates an exhibition celebrating individuals in Nottingham." [SB, 18.10.2012, PN2012-015]
