Comments:
Palladian Lodge, No. 120 is one of a small number to have a non-standard centenary jewel. Prior to the mid 1860s lodges produced unofficial jewels for centenaries and those with existing jewels were allowed to continue them as a concession when a standard form was made compulsory.
Comments:
Early lodges in England and Wales may have had several different numbers, due to a renumbering process that took place many times. The final renumbering took place in 1863. We record the Lodge with the number it has now, or last had. However, if an object predates the final renumbering of 1863 it may bear a previous number. This is why this jewel bears the number 141. For lodges founded before 1863, the Library and Museum also ascribed a serial number. This is a unique number attributed in accordance with the date the lodge was founded. The serial number of this Lodge is 528.
