The 20th Burma Rifles were formed in 1922 from battalions raised during World War One (1914-1918). The Burma Rifles were formed from the 20th Burma RIfles in 1937 when the British separated Burma from India. When Burma gained independence the Burma Rifles were absorbed into the Burmese Army.

Sergeant Chantelle Taylor completed two tours of Afghanistan. The first was in 2006 when she served at the Base Hospital in Camp Bastion, regularly working 12 hour shifts. Her second tour was in 2008. She was based at Laskar Gah and then at a Forward Operating Base in Marjah.
Taylor was travelling with a convoy when they were attacked near Marjah. Taylor returned fire, becoming the first female British soldier to kill an enemy in combat.

Addressed to the women of Queen Mary’s Army Auxiliary Corps serving with the Army of Occupation, it reads: ‘Since the occupation of Germany it has been necessary to have a strict control over circulation. The officers, QMAAC ladies, and NCOs and men have been working at a high pitch an have made our system control an entirely satisfactory and efficient one. This has required great tact. The absence of complaints testifies to this success.’

- Sealed pattern peaked forage cap designed to be worn by all ranks except warrant officers. Sealed in 1906 until 1908.
Sealed patterns were used to govern manufacture of insignia, establishing a prototype of any item that the British Army issued to soldiers. It provided clothing or equipment suppliers with an example to copy.

The pugri or pagri is a form of headdress.
The 96th Berar Infantry was formed in 1903 following reform of the Indian Army. The origin of the unit dates back to 1797 and the formation of the 2nd Battalion, Aurangabad Division; part of the forces of the princely state of Hyderabad. In 1852 the unit became the 3rd Regiment of Infantry, part of the Nizam of Hyderabad’s Army. Incorporation into the British Indian Army as the 3rd Infantry, Hyderabad Contingent followed in 1854.
The regiment expanded during World War One (1914-1918), serving in India and Mesopotamia. Further reform of the Indian Army in 1922 resulted in the unit becoming the 2nd Battalion, 19th Hyderabad Regiment. This unit became part of the Indian Army after Partition in 1947.

- Runners Up Medal for Ladies Singles at the Control Commission Germany Badminton Championships, Junior Commander Bevis Anael Shergold (nee Reid), Women’s Royal Army Corps, 1951.
Bevis Anael Shergold (nee Reid) was born in 1919 and was an accomplished track and field athlete by the time World War Two (1939-1945) broke out. She was a national champion in javelin and discus and participated in the 1938 European Athletics Championships in Vienna.
Reid joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service in 1940. Her fluency in Italian was put to good use, and she served with the Intelligence Corps, working in Combined Detailed Interrogation Centres across Egypt, Algeria and Italy, translating prisoner of war interrogations. After the War, Reid competed in the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, throwing the discus and javelin.
