- Comments:
- Grand Stewards' Lodge is one of a small number to have a non-standard centenary jewel. Prior to the mid 1860s lodges produced unofficial jewels for centenaries and those with existing jewels were allowed to continue them as a concession when a standard form was made compulsory.
- Comments:
- The design of this jewel was taken from the Grand Stewards' original members jewels used until 1835. The central working tool motif is taken from the jewel originally worn by the Master of the Grand Stewards' Lodge, which is purported to have been designed by the artist William Hogarth in the 1730s, himself a Grand Steward in 1735.
