- Brief description:
- In 2015 England and Wales hosted the Rugby World Cup. Exeter was one of 13 host cities. Sandy Park stadium, home to Premiership side Exeter Chiefs, is the venue for three prestigious world cup games.
RAMM commissioned internationally renowned photographer Michelle Sank to create a visual portrait of the city and its people during the build up to this once-in-a-lifetime event. Between February and July 2015 Sank photographed the players, spectators and fans of local teams and Exeter Chiefs.
Crossing age, class and gender, Sank’s images of players, crowds and supporters capture the importance of rugby within Exeter’s communities.
