- President Warren G. Harding (1865-1923), originally from Ohio, was the 29th President of the United States of America serving from 1921 to 1923. On 18th September 1922 he was supposed to attend the laying of the foundation stone for the new masonic temple in Detroit. However, he was unable to attend due to his wife falling ill.

Hanging device: Columns of Jachin and Boaz supporting the celestial and terrestrial globes in silver gilt, on a black and white enamel pavement. On the front the apron has a triangular flap, also in white leather with border of watered silk which is blue with red edges. The flap has two tassels in watered silk, blue with red edges, ended in a gold coloured metal bar with a foliage design with gold coloured metal ball and chain tassel ends. There are three levels of gold coloured metal with foliage design and a blue silk backing, two sewn to the apron and one to the flap. On the obverse central to the design is a relief depiction of three left facing busts of the three German Emperors William I (1797-1888), Frederick III (1831-1888), and William II (1859-1941) (see notes below). Encircling this is relief text reading 'WILHELM . I . FRIEDERICH . III . WILHELM . II .'. At the bottom of the medal are two sprigs of acacia tied with a ribbon. On the reverse central to the design is an engraved depiction of a set square and compass mounted on to a rectangular plaque surrounded by three eagles within a triangle.
