- Comments:
- Finish freemasonry began in Sweden in 1756 when a lodge was founded in Stockholm. This lodge later moved to Turku, Finland but still conducted rituals in Swedish. After the war against Russia in 1809 freemasonry in Finland stopped until their independence in 1917. The first Finish lodge (Suomi Loosi, No. 1) was founded in 1922. The Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons was the first Grand Lodge to be formed in Finland in 1924 and works under the Swedish Rite. 'It will be done' is the motto of Finish Freemasonry.
- Comments:
- The maker's mark 'TV' belongs to the medallist.
- Comments:
- As most items are manufactured in the same year they are presented, date of manufacture for this medal is taken to be the same as its presentation date. Please note this manufacture date is speculative as occasionally items are manufactured before or even after the date of presentation.
- Comments:
- The cataloguing of the medal collection at the Library and Museum of Freemasonry was supported by a grant from Arts Council England in 2013.

- Comments:
- Loge Les Amis de la Vérité, No. 14 was originally founded under the Grand Lodge of Memphis in 1856. In the run up to the Second World War (1939-1945) Arthur Fonjallaz who was a Swiss military figure, set up the Helvetic Action Against Secret Societies, which was opposed particularly towards Freemasonry. As a result freemasonry began to decline in Switzerland at this time. Loge Les Amis de la Vérité, No. 14 experienced financial difficulties, therefore in 1941 it was decided that the lodge would amalgamate with Loge La Cordialité, No. 16 who were also experiencing problems and the lodge became known as 'Loge Cordialité et Vérité, No. 15', which it is what it is known as today.
