- Comments:
- In 1902 freemasonry for women came to England from France in the form of mixed lodges (Co-Masonry). But in 1908 a break away by some Co-Masons formed a new order who wanted to practice freemasonry along the same lines as the male United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE). 'The Honourable Fraternity of Antient Masonry' was established and its first Grand Master was a man but since 1912 all the Grand Masters have been women. This new order at first accepted men and women but in the 1920s it was decided to restrict members to women only and visitors could no longer be men. Another Masonic order for women broke away in 1913 and was called 'The Honourable Fraternity of Ancient Freemasonry' (HFAF). To avoid confusion in the names “Order of Women Freemasons” (OWF) was added to the title of the 'The Honourable Fraternity of Antient Masonry' in 1958 and is the name they are known by today.

- Associated person:
- Loewenstark, Abraham David, fl. 1818-1884, Silversmith
- Comments:
- Palladian Lodge, No. 120 is one of a small number to have a non-standard centenary jewel. Prior to the mid 1860s lodges produced unofficial jewels for centenaries and those with existing jewels were allowed to continue them as a concession when a standard form was made compulsory.
- Comments:
- Early lodges in England and Wales may have had several different numbers, due to a renumbering process that took place many times. The final renumbering took place in 1863. We record the Lodge with the number it has now, or last had. However, if an object predates the final renumbering of 1863 it may bear a previous number. This is why this jewel bears the number 141. For lodges founded before 1863, the Library and Museum also ascribed a serial number. This is a unique number attributed in accordance with the date the lodge was founded. The serial number of this Lodge is 528.
